Teens fight in Leicester

On Nov. 15, Vermont State Police troopers dispatched to 50 Leicester-Whiting Rd. in Leicester for a family fight. Complainant Ariel Smith, 19, informed troopers that her boyfriend Joshua Rodman, 19, of Leicester hit her after a verbal altercation. After speaking with all parties involved in the incident Rodman was issued a flash-cited to appear in Addison County District Court.

Accident at Route 7, Monkton Road

On Nov. 17, near Route 7 and Monkton Road in Ferrisburg, a vehicle operated by Michael T. Bromley, 51, of Bristol was eastbound on Monkton Road. A second vehicle, operated by Caitlyn C. Brash, 24, of Waltham was northbound on Route 7 while making a left turn onto Monkton Road.

Bromley was turning onto Route 7 to go south. While making this turn he crossed the center line; the left front bumper collided with the left side in the left turn lane to Route 7. No injures in this accident. Bromleywas at fault for crossing the center line.

Black ice causes crash

On Nov. 14, a vehicle driven by Patricia L. Lawrence, 35 of Starksboro was westbound on Route 17, just east of Route 116 in Bristo, when it hit black ice on the road; Lawrence exited the south side of the road and hit a tree. No injuries were reported bu the vehicle had extensive front-end damage.

Passing car triggers accident

On Nov. 17, on Route 22A in Orwell, a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup, operated by Stephan Petrie, 58, of Colchester was traveling south when it passed two other southbound vehicles, one of which was a 1999 WSTR tractor trailer operated by Stephen Taylor, 32, of Fair Haven.

The pass was initiated at the end of a passing zone and was not completed before the highway narrowed and entered a blind hill. As Petrie was still in the northbound lane traveling south the operator noted the approach of a northbound vehicle, also a tractor trailer.
