Ticonderoga qualified seven runners for today's New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class D cross country championship meet in Pawling.
The top five runners not on the winning teams at the Section VII championship race earned berths in the state meet.
Representing Ticonderoga in the boys state meet today will be Jay Berube, Josh Cook, Tyler Belden and Joe LaPerle.
Berube finished third in the Class D section VII meet, with Cook fourth, Belden eighth and LaPerle 11th.
The Sentinels were second in the team event, scoring 38 points. Seton Catholic won with 21.
Also running for Ti were Ben Karkoski, who was 14th in the Class D race, Kevin Densmore 15th, Pat Lonergan 16th, Jacob Young 17th, Coleman Granger 18th, Brandon Charboneau 21st and Keegan Tierney 23rd.
Representing Ticonderoga in the girls state meet today will be Hannah Herbst, Becky Barber and Alaina Bevilacqua.
Herbst finished seventh in the Class D section meet, with Barber ninth and Bevilacqua 10th.
Seton Catholic won the Class D girls Section VII title with 15 points. Ti was unable to field a complete team when Tabitha Taylor, who was expected to qualify for the state meet, became ill and could not compete.
Markie teRiele finished 12th in the Class D race for Ti.
