SCHROON LAKE - The annual Town of Schroon Lions Club fundraising auction and garage sale will be held at the Schroon Lake Boathouse, located adjacent to the town boat launch, Sunday, may 30, at noon.
Auctioneer, Ed Haroff of Haroff Auction and Realty will donate his services to the event.
Again this year, each auction item will be displayed on an overhead viewer to enhance the efficiency and speed of the auction. The items will also be viewable on line at www.haroff.com. From their home page click on the Lions Auction information and you can view available items.
Typical auction items include furniture, antiques, household goods, sports and fitness equipment, knick-knacks and children's items. Also, gift certificates from local restaurants, businesses, and hotels will be available.
Free pickups of donations can be arranged by calling Lion Bette Manley at 532-7577 or Lion Dave Harder at 532-9827. Items can also be dropped off directly at the Boathouse 8-11 a.m. May 30.
Proceeds from the fundraising event are used to aid the visually-impaired and disadvantaged on the local, national and international levels.
The auction is one of many fundraising events that the Town of Schroon Lions Club holds to raise funding for local education scholarships, Camp Colby scholarships, Leader Dogs for the Blind (guide dogs), Lions Eye Bank in Albany and emergency dialer equipment, to name a few.
