Wildcats Softball off to solid start

NORTH CREEK - After four games, the Wildcats boast a 3-1 record. The team, coached by Mary Millington, is led by their 10 returning players Astasia Myler, Dakota Gadway, Makayla Denno, Montana Berg, Savanna Berg, Annabelle Millington, Emily Persons, Rebekah Harvey, Bethany Hayes and Gillian Hayden. They are joined this year by four new players including Sabrina Roberts, Tammie Wilson, Taylor Dwyer and Kersten Mason.

In game one, they fell to Stephenson's Lumber. Time was shared on the mound by Harvey, Dwyer, Denno and Myler. Offensively, the team was led my Dwyer, who went 3-for-3.

The Wildcats rallied in their second game against Irish Drywall to win 13-7. Denno and Myler did an impressive job pitching. They both helped their cause offensively by hitting a grand slam. Harvey also went 3-for-3 and scored twice, and Gasway went 2-for-2 and scored twice. Hayes helped the team out by going 2-for-2.

Against the Blue J's, the Wildcats came out on top 16-7. Denno led the way defensively. On the mound, she struck out six batters and helped herself out by being part of seven other outs of the game. At the plate, Myler went 3-for-3 with five RBIs. Wilson also went 2-for-2 with three RBIs.

Game four against Sweet's Lumber was called due to darkness, but the Wildcats tallied another win at 14-10. Harvey stared the game on the mound and pitched a couple good innings. Denno came in as relief and helped the cause by finishing out the game. Offensively, Gadway went 3-for-3 with ten RBIs.

The Wildcats are looking forward to a great season this year and hope to see many spectators at their games.
