Wild Center unveils newest approach to energy

TUPPER LAKE - The Wild Center revealed its renewable heating system on Thursday, May 13. Announced in July 2009, the installation combines a large-scale wood gasification heating plant with a solar thermal collector system to heat the 54,000 square-foot center. It will be one of the most efficient and modern gasification/solar systems in the United States. The project is supported by a $350,000 contract award by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA).
