The Blue J's kick off softball season

JOHNSBURG - The Blue J's, one of two youth softball teams for Johnsburg, is enjoying the beginning of this year's season. The Lady J's roster for 2010 consists of Laura Richards, Alexis & and Felicity Baker, Victoria Glover, Madison Bromley, Paige and Kennedy Guy, Megan Bacon, Sara Pierson, Alexis McCarrol, and Eden Smith and Emma Hagadorn.

On May 5, A. and F. Baker, Pierson, K. Guy, Glover and McCarrol started the season by giving their teammates RBIs against NAPA. Richards, McCarrol, Hagadorn and Bromley scored runs to return the favor and K. Guy added two more to the total. The game ball was awarded to P. Guy for two outstanding plays.

P. Guy, Pierson, Richards, Bromley, McCarrol, Bacon, Hagadorn and Smith scored eight of eleven runs in their win against Gino's on May 6. A. Baker added two more to the tally. A. and F. Baker, P. Guy, Bacon, Glover, and Bromley assisted with RBIs. Richards had two RBIs and Pierson kicked in a double. K. Guy had an RBI and received the game ball for her grand slam.

A. and F. Baker, and K. and P. Guy each scored runs against the Wildcats on May 11. Glover, McCarrol, Bacon and Richards all had RBIs and Bromley added a single. Pierson scored two runs, assisted with two RBIs and received the game ball for her homer.

The Blue J's faced the Luck-E-Stars on May 13 and the RBIs were abundant. Three RBIs belonged to Bromley as well as a single. Glover, Smith, and A. and F. Baker all scored runs. Bacon and McCarrol both added two home runs, while P. Guy and Pierson scored three runs each, and K. Guy and Richards each had four runs. This game ball was presented to Richards for her versatility and consistency.
