Panther ace fire no-hitter; Ti tops Moriah

Chelsea Dushane hurled a no-hitter as Crown Point beat Chazy, 12-1, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference softball play May 12.

Dushane fanned 15 and walked two in her gem. The Chazy run scored on an error.

Dushane also had a big day at the plate, lashing three hits.

Ashley Morgan added three knocks and Jessica Potter two for the Panthers.

Ticonderoga 14, Moriah 1

Ticonderoga downed Moriah, 14-1, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball action May 14.

The Sentinels managed just five hits, but capitalized on 13 walks and six Viking errors.

Taylor Denno had two hits for Ti.

Haley Best and Katie Karkoski combined to allow one run and strike of 13 for the Sentinels.

Moriah got just three hits.

Ticonderoga 8, AVCS 7

Ticonderoga topped AuSable Valley, 8-7, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball action May 10.

The Sentinels broke a 6-6 tie with two runs in the final inning and held on as AVCS got one back and loaded the bases in the home half.

Ti won when Taylor Denno tripled home Qirsten Ross and then scored on a passed ball.

Denno had three hits on the day. Chelsea Budwick added a pair of knocks for the locals.

Lake Placid 5, Moriah 4

Lake Placid edged Moriah, 5-4, in eight innings in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball action May 10.

Dana Aurilio and Jarrah Jerdo had hits for Moriah, which managed just two hits in the contest.

Crown Point 7,

Indian-Long Lake 6

Crown Point topped Indian-Long Lake, 7-6, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference softball play May 10.

Chelsea Dushane had three hits to lead the Panthers.

Ashley Morgan, Alex Macey and Noel Vezzi each had two hits for the winners.

Lindsey Brace fanned 17 and allowed just four hits on the hill for Crown Point.
