First Universalist Garden Fest

CHESTER - Chester's First Universalist Parish is presenting Garden Fest on June 5 in support of the campaign to raise money to rehabilitate and restore the Old Stone Church which is part of Stone Village on Route 103 in Chester.

Garden Fest is a tour of three neighboring gardens. Headquarters for the event (4-8 p.m.) will be at the home of Laura and David Driver, 2569 Flamstead Road, Chester, where plenty of parking is available, and where the lawns and gardens will be the venue for refreshments and entertainment.

Guitarists Will Danforth, Wendy Ehlert and Steve Chipman will perform from 4-7 p.m., and Ashley Hensel-Brown and her students will dance on the lawn at 7 p.m.

Twenty dollar tickets are available on the day of the event either at the church or at 2569 Flamstead Road, Chester, or $18 in advance at Misty Valley Books on the Chester Common. Children under 12 are free of charge.

The home of Judy Glos next door will be the location of Madla's woodland fairy garden which will display children's fairy houses. A short walk through the woods will bring people to the solar-powered home of Julie and Frank Kelley and their fascinating Marina's Way forest trail. Come and enjoy the fullness of spring at three close-by but different properties. Rain date is June 6.
