TICONDEROGA - The King's Garden at Fort Ticonderoga will hold its annual pre-season sale of perennials Saturday, May 22, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Plants within the walled garden need to be continually divided to maintain the pattern and variety of the formal layout, resulting in two seasonal perennial sales. Staff and volunteers will be on-hand to answer questions and dig up your selections.
There is no charge to attend. People are asked to bring bags, boxes or bins for plants - staff will do the rest.
Up the hill at the fort itself, staff will be celebrating the opening weekend of the 2010 season with new tours and exhibits.
The King's Garden is a restored pleasure garden on the Pell estate dating to the 1920s.
A complete calendar of events for the King's Garden and Fort Ticonderoga can be found at www.FortTiconderoga.org . Both are open from 9:30 to 5 daily.
