PLATTSBURGH - The first Angelo LaMariana Memorial Diabetes Educational Program will take place at the West Side Ballroom, 253 New York Road, Tuesday, May 18.
The event will consist of a health fair beginning at 5 p.m., with a lecture following at 6 p.m. The featured speaker will be Jack Leahy, M.D., chief of endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Leahy will present, "So, I Have Diabetes: What Every Patient Should Know."
The program was named in honor and memory of Angie LaMariana, a civic-minded Plattsburgh man who had diabetes and was instrumental in creating the CVPH Diabetes Support Group and enhancing diabetes education in our community. It is part of the CVPH Community Lecture Series sponsored by the Foundation of CVPH.
The program is free and reservations are suggested.
