Moriah Shock tournament slated

PORT HENRY - The Moriah Country Club will host the Friends of Moriah Shock Appreciation Golf Tournament on June 12. This is a four person scramble event for 18 holes. The event will be handicapped using the Moriah handicap system.

Entry fee is $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Entry fee includes lunch, a steak dinner, prizes and entertainment by Just Us on Saturday evening. There will be a shotgun start at 9 a.m.

Applications can be obtained at the club or by calling 546-9979. The deadline for applications is June 5. Field will be limited to the first 18, four person teams. Local dignitaries that supported the staff at Moriah Shock during the closure issue will be in attendance. Anyone who does not want to golf can still come to the dinner and entertainment for $15 and can pay at the door at 4 p.m.

Hunter ed classes to be held

CROWN POINT - Hunter education classes will be May 19, 20 and 21 from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Crown Point fire house. To register call Pat Perkins 216-4002 or Tom Barber 585-7859.

Hughes tournament to be played

PORT HENRY - The Moriah Country Club will host the 20th annual Art Hughes Memorial Golf Tournament May 29 and 30. It is a two-person scramble for 36 holes. Flights will be established after play on Saturday. There will be a shot gun start both days at 8 a.m.

Entry fee is $60 for members and $0 for non-members. There will be cash prizes in all flights. The entry includes a practice round on Friday, continental breakfast both days and a steak dinner and concert by E-town Express Saturday.

Boating classes set in Schroon, Ti

TICONDEROGA - Safe boating courses will be offered this spring by the Lake George Association in partnership with the Eastern New York Marine Trades Association and the Lake George Power Squadron.

Courses will be offered Sunday, May 16, at Snug Harbor Marina, Ticonderoga; and Saturday, June 19, at Schroon Lake Marina. To register in Ticonderoga call Bob Palandrani at 585-2628. To register in Schroon Lake call Craig Kennedy at 532-7882.
