Panthers top 'Cats;

Crown Point rolled past Schroon Lake, 17-2, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference softball play April 29.

Leading 2-0, the Panthers exploded for 11 runs in the second inning to secure the win.

Lindsay Brace had three hits, including a home run, and four runs batted in for the Panthers.

Chelsea Dushane and Heather Bemis each had two hits and two RBI for Crown Point, while Ashley Morgan plated three runs.

Dushane worked six inning for the mound win, fanning 13.

Rebecca Armstrong had a triple for Schroon Lake.

Willsboro 10, Schroon 9

A strike away from victory, Schroon lake lost to Willsboro, 10-9, in Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference softball play April 26.

After rallying for three runs and a 9-8 lead in the top of the final inning, Schroon was on the verge of victory. With two outs Willsboro got a runner on base via an error. Then with two strikes on Renee Provost, she ripped a two-run, walk-off homer for the win.

Brianna DeZalia had three hits and three runs batted in for the Wildcats. Mindy Whitty added two hits and Ashley Subra had two RBI for Schroon.

Plattsburgh 6,

Moriah 0

Moriah lost to Plattsburgh, 6-0, in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference softball action April 30.

Haley Waldron had three hits and Lauren Pelkey two for the Vikings.
