Green MT Club Hikes for May

PERU - Manchester Section of the the Green Mountain Club invites people to join them on these trail work days to help get the Long Trail ready for the hiking season.

Sat. May 8 -meet Hapgood store in Peru at 8 a.m. - water bar cleaning Mad Tom Notch south to north peak of Bromley - contact Marge Fish, 824-3662, marge.fish@gmail.com

Wed. May 12 - meet 11/30 parking lot at 8:45 a.m. - water bar cleaning RT 11/30 to summit of Bromley - contact Marge Fish, 824-3662, marge.fish@gmail.com

Fri. May 14 - meet Hapgood store in Peru at 8 a.m. - water bar cleaning, some clipping, removal of blowdowns with hand saws, Peru Peak to Styles Peak, it is a Wilderness area so no chainsaws - contact Marge Fish, 824-3662, marge.fish@gmail.com

SVAC Member's Exhibition

MANCHESTER - The Southern Vermont Arts Center presents the 81st Annual Members' Exhibition in its gala reopening for the season on Saturday, May 8, 4-6 p.m..

There will be a free opening party in Yester House with live music, hors d'oeuvres and cash bar.

Workshop at Library

SOUTH LONDONDERRY - The South Londonderry Free Library is celebrating Mother's Day with a special free workshop for Children on Saturday, May 8 at 10:30 a.m. Call 824-3371.

Peru Dinners Begin

PERU - A new season of Community Dinners has dawned in our mountain town. Our inaugural meal this year will be held on Wednesday, May 12 at noon at the Peru Town Center. Call 824-6660.

School Registration

JAMAICA - Jamaica School orientation is on Wednesday, May 12.

The Pre-K Program is open to all children who are residents of Jamaica and who will be 4 years old by September 1, 2010. JVS also accepts tuition students Pre-K through 6th grade.
