My journey to the half-marathon

So, I did the 9 miles! I ran over the weekend when the weather was nice. The run was okay, although I knew towards the end I was tiring, especially with the hills I was running up and down. They are pretty hard to avoid living in Saranac. Oh well, it will make me stronger in the end.

I had a rough week this week. It started out good but then I had an asthma attack/Vocal Cord Dysfunction episode at work and ended up in the hospital for a night. I recovered very quickly and seem stronger now than a year ago. This happened on Tuesday and I was back to work on Thursday. I will be able to return to exercise tomorrow so we will see how that goes. I feel fine, just a little tired. It just goes to show that can get healthier and stronger over time. This regimen of diet and exercise has improved my lifestyle and it will only continue to improve. I will maintain my exercise routine and hope to lose a few more pounds especially before my big birthday in a couple of weeks!

My family and friends remain so encouraging and supportive - it is really exciting to see their support for me. I feel blessed to be healthy and happy and have the friends and family that I have. For all of those who are starting on this lifestyle change, keep going and you will see results - it takes time but you will get there!
