Bye Bye Birdie to open at Johnsburg Central

NORTH CREEK - Under the direction of Mrs. Mary Leach, the Johnsburg Central School Music Department proudly presents the 1960 classic, "Bye Bye Birdie" on Friday and Saturday, March 26 and 27 at 7 p.m. in the JCS gymnasium.

"Bye Bye Birdie" debuted on Broadway, April 14, 1960 and after 607 performances came to the silver screen in 1963 with its most hilarious and memorable roles played by Dick VanDyke, Maureen Stapleton, Janet Leigh, Ann-Margaret, Bobby Rydell, Paul Lynde, Mary LaRoche, and Jesse Pearson as Conrad Birdie.

Recreating these key rolls on the Johnsburg Central School stage will be:

Caleb Eick as Albert Peterson; Casandra Prouty as Rose Alverez; Chelsea Bromley as Kim MacAfee; Margaret Welz as Mrs. Mae Peterson; Dustin Weller as Hugo Peabody; Brooke Guy as Ursula Merkle; Mikayla Glode, Ben Richards and Jonathan Ordway as the MacAfee Family and Darren Goodspeed as Conrad Birdie.

A total of forty-three very talented JCS students fill the cast of this ageless musical comedy classic.

Admission ticket prices are $ for adults, $4 for children 12 and under and senior citizens and are available at the door. Doors open at 6 p.m.
