Annual skating show to recognize

Although Guay admits she was a little skeptical at first about having the synchronized team a part of the show, because she didn't want to take away from the club's skaters, she said she hopes it will intrigue girls in the audience to want to join the club.

"We decided that it's something new in the area that people have never seen," Guay said of The Ice Crystals.

The event will also feature a pre-show a half-hour before each performance, which will allow the kids in the North Country Skating Club, who have passed up to the next skating level, to perform a solo.

"The pre-show soloists, each girl has a two-minute song and they skate all by themselves to their song," Guay said. "They work all year long, from October until now."

General admission to the show is $6 and $4 for seniors and children younger than 12. For more information, visit the club's Web site, www.ncskatingclub.org.
