WILLSBORO - Coaches within the Mountain and Valley Athletic Conference released the names of the division III softball all-star team early last week.
Kaylie Miller of the Indian Lake-Long Lake Orange was honored as conference MVP. A senior, Miller was strong from the mound this year and led the team both on and off the field, according to head coach David Olbert.
Joining Miller were three other Orange players including junior shortstop Carli Reynolds, junior Murphy Farrell at second base and senior catcher Sierra Olbert.
The Minerva-Newcomb Mountaineers welcomed honors as senior shortstop Larissa Roy, junior pitcher Laura Tokarz and sophomore outfielder Renna Yandon were added to the team.
Kelly Blackhurst, a senior catcher from the Johnsburg Jaguars rounded out the list of local players named all-stars.
Sportsmanship awards were also delivered to Johnsburg, Indian Lake-Long Lake and Minerva-Newcomb.
