NORTH CREEK - For the second year in a row, the North Creek Gore youth baseball team finished its regular season with a 10 - 0 record. Gore has now won 29 regular season games in a row.
On June 14, Gore beat VFW of Warrensburg 12 - 2. Pitching for Gore were Andrew Sponable and Aidan Connelly. Both pitched well, combining for 12 strike outs.
Brandon Tyrel and Sponable both had big two out hits. Tyrel hit a two out single knocking in two runs in the 4th inning, while Sponable hit a two out bases loaded triple in the 5th inning.
Dalton Stevens hit a two run homer. Josh Donohue, Mark Cleveland and Morgan Beswick added doubles. Sebastian Wood went 1-for-1, scoring three runs and an RBI. In his last three games, Wood has gone 5-for-5.
Playing good defense for Gore were Cleveland, Connelly, Tyrel and Will Davis as Gore picked off four base runners on the day. Team Gore has not given up a triple or home run all year.
Gore will go into the end of the year tournament as the #1 seed. The tournament will be Saturday, June 19 at Warrensburg.
