Looking at the past

The Babbie Rural and Farm Learning Museum, 250 River Road, Peru, opened its doors with an official ribbon-cutting last weekend. Hundreds perused - and touched- the interactive displays, which give a glimpse at how farming life once was in the North Country. Here, Megan Taptick, a native of Peru, returned for the event from Rutland, Vt., with her daughter, Brooke. Taptick said she thought it was "great for Peru to have something like this for families who are looking for something to do." The museum is open Wednesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, call 643-8052 or 569-8715.
