North Creek farmer's market welcomes 2010 season with extended hours

By Lindsay Yandon

NORTH CREEK - The North Creek farmer's market will debut for the season Thursday, June 17 and will introduce extended hours. The market will be open every Thursday through October from 3 - 6 p.m and is located next to the train tracks on the Hudson River on Railroad Place.

Last year, the North Creek farmer's market concluded its first season with a lot of success, which gained momentum over the winter for this year's market.

Members of the North Creek Farmer's Market Association, Inc. said they would like to extend a sincere thanks to all who came and supported their premier market last year and said they hope people will come out for the 2010 season.

"The farmer's market is dedicated to providing the freshest produce to the community," said association member Barbara Thomas. "It also serves as a gathering place for friends and acquaintances."

Accompanying the extended hours will be more vendors than ever offering veggies, perennials, maple, crafted furniture, flowers, cookies, pies, chocolates, cheese, wine, garlic and herbs, hot dogs, jams, jellies and more.

The market is also looking for musicians to entertain during market hours. Interested musicians should contact Theresa Studnicky at theresastudnicky@gmail.com.
