Gore stays unbeaten

JOHNSBURG - On June 4, North Creek Gore youth baseball team beat VFW of Warrensburg 12-4. Aidan Connelly pitched five strong innings for the win.H e did not walk a batter while striking out six.

From the plate, Josh Donohue was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBIs. Morgan Beswick was 1-for-3 with a double, one run and two RBIs. Connelly was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs. Will Davis was 1-for-2 with one run and two RBIs. Sebastian Wood was 1-for-1 and scored a run.

Also adding hits were Mark Cleveland, Andrew Sponable and Trevor McKinney. Beswick, Davis, Dawson West and Mike Wilson played well on the defensive side of the field.

The win was Gore's 27th regular season win in a row.

On June 7, Gore beat Curtin Lumber of Warrensburg scoring 22 runs on 24 hits with nine doubles, three triples and two home runs all in only four innings.

Many had good days with the bat.

Connelly was 4-for-4 with a double, a homerun, four runs and three RBIs. Brandon Tyrel was 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, four runs, four RBIs and three steals. Cleveland was 3-for-3 with two doubles, a homerun, two runs and four RBIs. Wood was 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and two RBIs. Dalton Stevens was 2-for-2 with two doubles, a run and one RBI. Sponable was 3-for-4 with a double, a triple, three runs and three RBIs. Donohue was 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs and three RBIs. McKinney added a triple and West had a single.

Pitching for Gore were 10 year olds Davis and Wood. They both pitched well.

During this past week Gore pitcher Sponable hit a career milestone striking out his 100th batter.

Gore is now 9 - 0 on the season and has now won 28 regular season games in a row.
