NORTH CREEK - The North Creek Depot Museum has announced its has received a $1,000 grant from the Charles R. Wood Foundation. The funds will be used to purchase tables and stools for education programs and functions at the Owens House Education Center and Gallery.
The mission of the Charles R. Wood Foundation is to provide assistance to areas of special need in the Lake George region and surrounding areas, by supporting not-for-profit organizations with an emphasis on programs for children, healthcare and the arts.
The museum is also a recipient of $1,000 from the New York Business Development Corporation in honor of Mike Brassel's service as director of the Statewide Zone Capital Corporation for 10 years. Brassel is currently a member of the North Creek Depot Preservation Association board of directors.
"The museum is immensely appreciative of the recognition from both organizations," said Michelle San Antonio, museum director.
