Ticonderoga claimed its sixth straight Section VII Class C baseball championship with a 5-0 win against Northern Adirondack May 31.
Robert teRiele hurled a one-hitter for the Sentinels. He didn't allow a NAC runner past second base.
The win puts Ti in the state Class C tournament. The Sentinels have a first round bye and will play the Section X-II winner June 8.
Miles Austin had three hits and Nate Lenhart and Nate Laundree each had two for Ti in the section title tilt.
Ticonderoga scored twice in the third inning for a 2-0 lead. After loading the bases on two hits and an error, Ti plated runs on another error and a bases-loaded walk.
Ti iced the game with a three-run sixth inning. Hits by Dan Morrison, Lenhart, Austin and Laundree keyed the rally.
The win lifts Ticonderoga to 15-6 on the campiagn.
Moriah advanced to the semifinals of the Section VII Class D baseball tournament with a 5-2 win against Minerva-Newcomb May 27.
The Vikings got run-scoring hits from Tim Breeyear and Ron Schofield and tallied three more times on errors to win.
Winning pitcher Ryan Mascarenas and Schofield each had two hits for the Vikings.
Mascarenas allowed just four hits and fanned six on the hill.
Schroon 5, Lake Placid 2
Schroon Lake to the semifinals of the Section VII Class D baseball tournament with a 5-2 win against Lake Placid May 27.
The Wildcats got RBIs from Jimmy Bowen, Nick Langabeer and Jeffrey Armstrong. They also capitalized on four Lake Placid errors to score twice.
Anthony Vanderwalker gained the pitching win with Wesley Beers picking up the save.
Chazy 6, Crown Point 3
Crown Point was upset by Chazy, 6-3, in the quarterfinals of the Section VII Class D baseball tournament May 27.
