Johnsburg Library anticipates largest book sale to date

NORTH CREEK - Volunteers of the Johnsburg Library assembled at Tannery Pond Community Center this week to begin preparations for one of their biggest annual events - a book sale scheduled for Saturday, July 31 with a preview party Friday, July 30.

"Dozens of volunteers are donating their time to make this the best and biggest Library Book Sale ever," said event organizer Judith Harper.

The sale will be held in the Tannery Pond Community Center. The preview party will kick off the event from 7 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, followed by the sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Refreshments will be available.

Friday evening's preview party, hosted by The Friends of the Johnsburg Library, will give interested readers a first look at the selection of books for sale as well as provide entertainment by local favorites, Don't Quit Your Day Job. Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be served and a silent auction will be featured, offering many prizes donated by local businesses. The preview party is $15 per couple and $8 per person.

Event organizers are still searching for as much help as possible to get the event off the ground and ensure that it lives up the standards that it has set in previous years.

"We are still looking for book sale volunteers to help with preparations and to be available the day of the sale," said Harper. "We appreciate all the help we can get."

If interested in volunteering to sort books, bake for the refreshments sale or to volunteer on the day of the sale, call Harper at 251-3006.
