Downtown Essex Day is Aug. 7

ESSEX - The historic hamlet of Essex on the shore of Lake Champlain will host its 31st annual Downtown Essex Day Saturday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine.

Antiques, collectibles, Amish quilts, artwork and crafts will be offered for sale throughout the hamlet. Joan Crane will return to perform her popular blues and folk tunes on the lawn at Pantouf's gift shop, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Several restaurants, along the town's Main Street and on the lake shore, will serve lunch and dinner, and refreshment stands will offer sandwiches and beverages. Visitors can bring picnic lunches to Beggs Park, where children can enjoy the newly installed playground equipment.
