Bakers Mills News 7-31-10

Dauphin Conlon is enjoying going to day camp at Camp Wakpominee in Fort Ann. He loves learning and being with the other scouts.

The three Dalaba Sisters - Pansy, Rose and Candy enjoyed the family gathering on Edwards Hill July 24. It was a beautiful day and everyone enjoyed the chats, food and pictures. Those who came were from Comstock, Fort Ann, Queensbury, Lake Luzerne, Johnsburg, Bakers Mills, Chestertown, Schroon Lake and Vermont.

Agnes Straight and daughter Shellie spent several days in Maine. They were at Agnes's daughter, Darlene Rogers's home to attend a baby shower for Agnes's granddaughter.

Ben and Lizzy Zink from New Jersey enjoyed several days at the River House belonging to Fred and Ruth Allen. There was great weather for them.

Fred and Chrissy finally were able to get away for a real vacation. They enjoyed their time away.

Maureen Carmody and children, Ethan and Eve from Argyle visited grandmother, Mary Russell. They helped with the flower bed and enjoyed a great lunch.

Sorry to hear about the death of Carol Carmody in Argyle.

Debby Bacon Austin is really happy to have found one of her cousin's that had been adopted so many years ago. Christine has five children. All are enjoying getting to know family and the area.

Tara Cleveland and many family members enjoyed going to Magic Forest one day last week. They had a great day and the youngsters had a great time. Even grandmothers and aunts went to enjoy.

Thanks to all who helped in the early morning hours to get the runaway horses. They decided the grass was better at Don and Karen Moore's at 7 a.m. then waiting for hay.


Aug. 14 from noon to 4 p.m. in the Sodom Community Church parking lot there will be "Son Harvest Country Fair." It is free and there will be face painting, ice cream cones, hot dogs, hay ride, scarecrows and much more. Sign up that day for Vacation Bible School that will begin Aug. 23 through 27, 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Allen's Antique Engine Show is Aug. 20 and 21 on Edwards Hill, Bakers Mills.

Aug. 22 Jay Witham in concert in the morning worship service at the North River Methodist Church. Everyone welcome.
