Dr. Tracie DiMarco joins ECH staff

ELIZABETHTOWN - Elizabethtown Community Hospital will welcome Dr. Tracie DiMarco to its staff this summer.

DiMarco will be establishing her full-time family practice at the Elizabethtown Community Health Center. She will also be on-call for emergency situations at the hospital, as part of the scheduled rotation with the hospital's other physicians.

DiMarco, who hails from the Hudson Valley region, has been working as a solo family practitioner since 2004.

"I'm looking forward to working in a small community where we really get to know our neighbors," said DiMarco. "I'm excited about becoming an integral part of the Elizabethtown health center and the hospital, using my training and expertise to assist families in the region."

Her medical training and experience has led DiMarco to develop an expertise in women's health and nutrition issues.

"Women have some unique challenges in terms of illness, hormonal issues and weight control," she said. "I would like to help women overcome those challenges through proper medical care, nutrition and overall health and wellness education."

According to hospital CEO Rod Boula, DiMarco will be a welcome addition to the organization.

"The hospital is thrilled to have Dr. DiMarco joining its professional, talented team. It's important that our area residents have access to primary care physicians close to home," he said.

DiMarco completed her residency training at the Hudson Valley Family Practice Residency Program in Poughkeepsie and is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine She is a graduate of Marist College and received her medical degree from the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine. DiMarco has also received additional training in nutrition and behavioral medicine.

Elizabethtown Community Hospital is a 25-bed critical access hospital providing healthcare to residents of communities throughout Essex County. The hospital offers advanced technology, access to specialists, a variety of healthcare services, and highly skilled medical staff. It boasts an all-digital radiology department, newly-renovated emergency room, lab, physical therapy services and inpatient unit offering both acute and sub-acute care.

Elizabethtown Community Hospital is the only critical access hospital in Essex County accredited by the Joint Commission. It received its critical access hospital status in 1997.
