TICONDEROGA -- A Ticonderoga man was killed early Thursday when he was hit by a freight train in a tunnel, police said.
Jeremy P. Crank, 38, was in a tunnel about a half-mile from state Route 74 when he was hit and killed by a northbound Canadian Pacific Railways train, according to Ticonderoga Police. The collision happened at 4:45 a.m.
Police said it was unclear why Crank was in the tunnel, which is near "Pell's Crossing."
The rail line is private property and Crank was trespassing, police said.
