LAKE GEORGE - The Caldwell-Lake George Library will present a series of instructional programs in genealogy in February.
Titled "Getting Started In Genealogy - The Truth Is Out There," the programs are offered on Feb. 10, 17 and 24. beginning at 7 p.m. in the library at 336 Canada St., Lake George Village.
The workshops are aimed at those who are new to, or just getting started in genealogy, but anyone is welcome to attend. The first program will explain the family interview, record keeping and how and where to find genealogical information. The emphasis will be on resources available at local libraries and databases that can be accessed through library websites. Cindy Rowzee, an experienced Latter Day Saints genealogist will speak Feb. 17. Her topic will be information that is available on the LDS website and at LDS research centers.
Glens Falls City Historian Wayne Wright will be the speaker in February 24. He will discuss the many resources that are available through his office.
The programs are free and open to the public. Reservations are suggested, by calling the library at 668-2528. There will be a $3 charge to cover the cost of printing the handout material. In case of poor weather. call the library for rescheduling information.
