Indian Lake-Long Lake 39
Bolton 36
BOLTON LANDING - Indian Lake-Long Lake took an early lead in their Tuesday night contest against Bolton, and the game finished with a three point margin in favor of the Orange.
Indian Lake-Long Lake led 27-15 at the half, but the Eagles made an impressive 11-2 run in the third quarter to tighten the game. Each team scored 10 points apiece in the fourth quarter for the guests to come away with the win.
The Orange remain undefeated and the team to beat in the MVAC and beyond with an overall record of 9-0.
Kris Bain put up 18 points to help Indian Lake-Long Lake gain the edge. Zack Mitchell sunk 12 points in the win, while Matt Rausch added six points and Jordan Wallace finished with three points for the Orange.
"I am pretty impressed that we were able to hold them to 36 points on their own court," said Orange head coach, Jim Zulo.
Dom Pfau's 18 points, including three three-pointers paced Bolton. The Eagles made a few final free-throw attempts in the closing minutes, but couldn't catch up.
Free-throw attempts were not as successful, however, for the Orange. They missed 13 attempts from the line and gave the Eagles an opportunity to gain some ground.
Zulo was please with the overall performance. "They played well man to man and it was hard for us to get open ," he said. "And we didn't react well to the pressure."
Bolton was the first of three consecutive away games for the Orange.
"This is a hard road trip for us and we are happy to get this game out of the way."
The Orange will face Crown Point and Chazy later this week.
