Sembrich, library offer free Hanks film screening

BOLTON LANDING - The Sembrich Winter Film Series continues Tuesday, Jan. 12, at 7 p.m. with the free screening of "The Terminal."

This 2004 comedy-drama, directed by Steven Spielberg, stars Tom Hanks as an East European stranded for a year at JFK Airport after being denied entry into the U.S.

A Sembrich representative said this week the film relates, in charming Kapra-esque fashion, how this hapless traveler affects and touches the lives of those that he meets during that time. Film critic Roger Ebert described "The Terminal" as "a sweet and delicate comedy, a film to make you hold your breath, it is so precisely devised."

The free film series continues on Tuesday evenings with "Shakespeare in Love" offered on Feb. 9 and "Mother of Mine" on March 9. All films will be shown at the Bolton Free Library at 7 p.m. with free admission.

For details, call the Sembrich museum office at 644-2431.
