The Adirondack District of the Boy Scouts of America held its annual Klondike Derby Jan. 29-31 at the Willsboro Fish and Game Club. Boy Scout Troops from Saranac Lake, Plattsburgh, Champlain, Elizabethtown and Westport, 78 scouts in all, were involved in Saturday's winter competitions which tested scouting skills in single-digit temperatures. Events included ice rescue, emergency shelter building, orienteering, first aid, and several others.
