"The seniors also contributed a significant amount and I'm sure the effort by all will be greatly appreciated," added Lucas.
The festivities ended Feb. 20 with a semi-formal dance and the crowning of a king and queen.
"All classes vote for a king and queen of Winter Weekend from the senior class," Lucas explained.
P. J. Collins and Victoria Reynolds took king and queen respectively.
For those who witnessed the festivities for the first time, Lucas said he heard comments about how well the students cooperate.
"They are amazed at how enthusiastic the students are, how well they cooperate between the classes and how tight-knit of a group the student body is," he said. "The older groups always look out for the younger ones in a way I've not seen anywhere else."
The Lions Club has been sponsoring the school's Winter Weekend for nearly 50 years, donating a monetary award to each class based on the amount of points they receive during the week.
"It is our hope that we help foster and build a stronger sense of community spirit in our younger community members," said Lucas.
