Wild Wings Ski Touring Center was the venue on Jan. 31 for the tenth annual Ski for Heat fundraiser, which benefits low-income families in the area with heating fuel assistance. Sponsored this year by Clark's Quality Foods in Londonderry, the event brought in approximately $20,000 for the Shareheat fund at BROC.
Funds raised from Ski for Heat, as well as from the Blues Concert, donated by Bob Stannard & Friends and held earlier this month, benefit the Shareheat Fund at BROC. "Pam Shambo, of BROC, said the number of requests for help this year has been overwhelming," said Robertson. "Thank goodness for the many thoughtful folks in the area who came out on Sunday; their efforts will make a difference in the lives of others."
The success of this year's Ski for Heat is attributable to a combination of many individuals and local businesses. "I wish I could take the space to thank all those happy and hearty souls who made this possible. Every dollar earned and mile skied is appreciated and important," continued Robertson.
