Meeting on Groundwater Study

There will be a public meeting on Wednesday, March 3 at 7:30 p.m. in the Londonderry Town Office to present the results of the Londonderry Groundwater Study by Laurence R. Becker, Vermont State Geologist and Director of the Vermont Geological Survey and Marjorie Gale who is a geologist and digital mapping expert.

The Londonderry Groundwater Project was a joint undertaking of the Vermont Geological Survey and the Londonderry Conservation Commission.

The purpose of the project was to identify and characterize the various sources of groundwater, primarily for drilled wells, in the town and to prepare relevant detailed geological maps and reports. Becker and Gale will discuss the processes used for the study, primarily geological research, drilled well location verification, and digital mapping. In addition to the groundwater source information, some interesting features of Londonderry's geology will be described.
