Moriah school project proposed

The 2006 project renovated the high school office, created a high school media center, added a fitness wing, expanded the elementary school gym, replaced lockers, added security cameras and more.

A school building committee has been working on the new proposed since last September. That committee includes Shelly Winters, Tom Langey, Jim Jaquish, Jamie Wilson, Kelly Valentine, Dwayne Maye, Pete Gilbo, Mike Speshock, Bernard Beebe, Aaron Brassard, Anne Marie Adamowicz, April Reeder, Bill Boucher, Bob McFerran, Brian Cross, Calvin Nephew, Charles Reeder, Chip Perry, Charles French, Cindy Grinnell, Dayton Dedrick, Debbie Mandy, Diane Lashway, Erica Kazlo, George Pilger, Jason Sprague, Jody Olcott, John Boyea, Shirley Tedford, Todd Malbon, Tom Anderson, Tom Finnessey, Erin Gilbo, Breeyear and Larrow.

"The building committee represents a wide cross section of the community," Larrow said. "They've worked very hard on this proposal."

Moriah Central School has 782 students. Unlike many neighboring districts, its student popular is increasing, Larrow said.
