Spellbinding' throat singers coming to NAC

"They're going to be talking about the culture of Tuva. I'm sure they're going to be talking about maybe some folks tories and legends behind the instruments," he said of the workshops. "Maybe they'll even go into about how they actually throat-sing."

Although the workshops are open only to the students and some teachers, the community will get to experience Alash during a free concert at NAC High School, cosponsored by Champlain Valley Educational Services, Thursday, Feb. 25, at 7 p.m.

"You'll be spellbound by this amazing sound," said Baker. "It's unexpected, the sounds that come out of their voices."
