SVAC 2nd Annual Teddy Bear Tea Party

The Southern Vermont Arts Center's second annual Teddy Bear Tea Party takes place at the Arts Center on Saturday, Feb. 13 from 2-4 p.m.

Partygoers are invited to bring a well-loved teddy bear (or doll or other stuffed animal) and both are encouraged to "dress up" for the occasion in their best tea finery.

In addition to enjoying tea, juice, sandwiches and sweets, the kids will participate in a variety of activities, including crafts and stories. There will also be time for adults and children to walk around Yester House Gallery and take in the February Exhibition.

Children aged 4 - 12, with adult; $24 per child-adult pair (members $20); additional guests $12 each (members $10); free admission for Teddy Bears.

Komen Grant Funds Available

The Vermont-New Hampshire Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is proud to announce the availability of grant funds for 2010-2011. Grants will be made to support efforts that attempt to reduce breast cancer rate disparities between and among communities in Vermont and New Hampshire.

The deadline for applications is midnight, February 16.

SVAC Offers School Vacation Art Camp

The Southern Vermont Arts Center and Bogate Designs are joining forces to offer an art camp during the February school break, Monday, Feb. 15 through Friday, Feb. 19.

There will be 10 separate half-day sessions and participants may register for one session, multiple sessions or for the full week. The full day will be from 9:30-3:30 consisting of a 2 1/2 hour morning session, lunch and a 2 1/2 hour afternoon session. The classes, which will be taught by four visiting artists, are structured for children ages 6-10.
