Nicholos Orr graduated from Plattsburgh State University Magna Cum Laude Dec.12, 2009, with a bachelor of science degree in childhood education 1-6, mathematics concentration.

Prior to graduation Orr completed his student teaching at Elizabethtown Central School and Moriah Central School.

Orr has been accepted into the master's program at Plattsburgh State University.

He is the son of Robert and Chloe Orr of Mineville.

Tonya Tyrrell, a junior adolescence education: English major from Schroon Lake, has been named to the fall dean's list at SUNY-Cortland.

Honorees must earn a grade point average of 3.3 or higher on a 4.0 scale, while completing 12 or more credit hours of classes during the semester.

SUNY-Cortland is home to the largest undergraduate teacher education program in the Northeast.

Wentworth Institute of Technology has announced that Thomas Valenti of Ticonderoga is among the students who have earned dean's list recognition for the fall 2009 semester.

Saint Michael's College, a liberal arts, residential Catholic college located in the Burlington, has named its dean's list.

Cited were:

Samantha M. Cawley, daughter of Laurie and Robert Cawley of Ticonderoga , a sophomore art major, who graduated from Ticonderoga High School;

Katherine M. McBride, daughter of Jeanne McBride of Ticonderoga and Michael McBride of Moriah, a sophomore psychology major, who graduated from Ticonderoga High School; and

Zachary S. Pratt, son of Steven and Karen Pratt of Ticonderoga , a senior computer science major, who graduated from Ticonderoga High School.

Students who complete a minimum of 12 credits and achieve a grade point average of at least 3.4 at the end of a semester are recognized for their scholarship by inclusion on the dean's list.

Caleb Armstrong, a resident of Mineville, was among 1,357 students who earned dean's list honors from SUNY-Oneonta for the fall 2009 semester.

To qualify for the dean's list, undergraduate students must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher while carrying a course load of 12 semester hours or more.
