So it all comes down to this. Big Blue must beat the Deadskins, and Da Bears must beat Da Pack if the New York Football Giants are to get into the playoffs. After the pitiful display they put on last weekend, I won't be holding my breath. Still, I'm hopeful they get in, if only to get another shot at beating the Eagirls.
The blizzard that hit the East Coast Sunday has impacted our little contest. As I write this Tuesday morning, there's still one game left to be played for Week 16. Emmy Santasiero and Dwight King are tied for the top spot for the week at 11-4. Emmy has Philly, Dwight is picking (has picked) Minnesota, so one of them will be the week's leader alone after the game.
In the overall standings former champ John Gereau still holds a two-game lead over the bearded Sam Grant and is three games ahead of Linc Marsac. That won't change after Tuesday's game as they've all gone with Philly.
Whew, I'm glad this is almost over. We'll crown our champion this weekend. In case of a tie, we'll continue picking into the playoffs to determine a winner once and for all.
Remember a few weeks ago when I was a Dallas fan for a day? Well, believe it or not, I have to pull for Philly tonight, which kind of turns my stomach, but here's why: If the Vikings pull an upset, it means Chicago gets the second seed and will really have nothing to play for against Green Bay this weekend. If the Eagirls win tonight, Da Bears will really want to get the first round bye and should give their all and would knock Green Bay out in the process.
Of course, it still means Big Blue has to beat Washington.
