Is there anyone who would like to organize the T.O.P.S. meetings in Thurman? It would be a good community service and will help improve local folks' lives and increase lifespans. Call Debbie at 792-2888 and let us know when you can start.
Also, is there anyone who would like to write a weekly column for the Journal? Call 623-2580 and volunteer. I'm not leaving this position anytime soon, it's just that I'm planning for the future, and I know how important this news column is for so many people in our community.

A local woman, nearly stranded, contacted the Journal to thank her neighbors who helped out. She was recently leaving the Thurman town hall after a town meeting, only to get to her car and remember she had locked her car keys in an office. She expresses thanks to the folks who helped and waited for her to get her keys! It would have been a long, cold walk home in the dark without their help, she said.
