Social Services Fraud Unit announce arrest of Port Henry Man

PORT HENRY - John Maye, age 46 of Port Henry, has been charged with 5 counts of offering a false instrument for filing 1st degree, class E felonies and 4 counts of Welfare Fraud 5th degree, class "A" misdemeanors. It is alleged he defrauded the Home Energy Assistance Program of $2,350 between 2006 and 2010 by submitting applications containing false statements. He will be arraigned on Dec. 16. 2010 before Town Justice William Garrison at the Town Hall, Elizabethtown, New York.
