Crown Point names Junior Miss

CROWN POINT - Emily Meachem is the 2010 Crown Point Junior Miss.

Meachem was selected during the community's 25th annual Junior Miss program Nov. 13. The program theme was "We're Having a Junior Miss Fiesta."

"Four young ladies put on a spectacular show in front of a nearly sold out auditorium," said Jill Spring of the program committee.

Meachem will represent Crown Point in Buffalo for the state program on April 2.

Meachem also won the scholastic, "Be Best Self" and self expression awards.

Chelsea DuShane was first runner up and received fitness, interview and talent awards.

Erin Ross won the spirit award.

Chelsea Thatcher also competed in the program.

"This is the last year for the program to be called America's Junior Miss, it will be changing its name to Distinguished Young Women," Spring said. "The values and categories will be the same."

"The Crown Point committee would like to thank everyone who donated from the community and surrounding areas," Spring added. "Without your support we wouldn't be able to have a program for this long. Thank you."
