CHAZY - The William H. Miner Agricultural Research Institute will host its annual Dairy Day Tuesday, Dec. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Dairy farmers and agribusiness professionals are encouraged to attend this educational event.
Various agribusinesses will have exhibits running from 10 to 11 a.m., when the lectures begin. This year's topics include: "Updates from Miner Institute," by Miner Institute president Dr. Rick Grant; "Early Life Nutrition & Management: Preparing Them to be Better Cows," by Dr. Mike Van Amburgh of Cornell University; "Utilizing Knowledge of Behavior to Improve the Nutritional Management of Dairy Heifers," by Dr. Trevor Devries of the University of Guelph; "How to Optimize Return on Investment of Heifers - Pregnancy and Other Targets for Optimum Milk Yield," by Dr. Mike Van Amburgh of Cornell University.
Dairy Day is open to the public at no charge, with no advance registration required. Lunch is available for $5.
