It is interesting to note that in coming to Warrensburg years ago, he had retired from service to another parish, but he felt a call to minister here, spreading the Word and raising spiritual awareness in our community.
In the years since, he has uplifted many lives and made many friends.
Quiche Brunch returns to local church
The Church of the Holy Cross in Warrensburg will hold its popular Quiche Brunch on Saturday, Dec. 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This traditional brunch is $7 and all are invited. While at the church, visit the cookie sale and bazaar. Many homemade items are for sale. Support the churches during Christmas in Warrensburgh, because they accomplish a lot for our community.
Festivities set for Chestertown
The Priory retreat will host its annual holiday fundraising sale from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, and from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, at St. John the Baptist parish center in Chestertown. To be offered for sale are gift items, toys, wood crafts, baked goods and quilts. Also, refreshments and baked goods will be available for purchase. Call the Priory at 494-3733 for details on the sale.
First Presbyterian sets holiday events
All are invited to attend several Christmas-themed events at First Presbyterian Church of Warrensburg.
On Saturday, Dec. 11, the church will host Rev. Tim Coombs in a one-person presentation of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" at 6 p.m. Refreshments will be available from 5:30 to 6 p.m. and during the intermission of the performance. Donations to cover Rev. Tim's travel expenses will be collected. The church is located at 3 Stewart Farrar Ave.
A Christmas program including carol singing and a holiday youth drama will be presented on Sunday, Dec. 12, during the 10 a.m. worship service at the church. The church choir will lead the congregation in Christmas carols, while the youth of the assembly will provide the acting.
