The achievements of the library under the direction of Hastings were recognized by representatives of the Southern Adirondack Library System and other agencies.

Shirley Keeler, who volunteered and worked part-time at the library for 38 years, seemed attuned to the poignancy of the celebratory affair. She expressed the hope that the library can continue to carry on all that Norma Hastings achieved.

Under Norma Hastings, the people of Stony Creek indeed had a magical place where they could go and experience the love of books, she and others said.
