Chamber recognizes ambassadors

WESTPORT - The Westport Chamber of Commerce recognized their cadre of Heritage House Visitor Center Ambassadors at their annual dinner, catered by DaCy Meadows Farm, Nov. 11. Volunteers in attendance received a certificate of appreciation for their role in greeting Westport's 2010 summer guests, providing them with a people-to-people experience, answering questions about what to do in Westport, and what it is like living in our rural Lake Champlain-Adirondack Region.

Certificate recipients included: Sandy Goodroe, Linda Rockefellar,* Melanie Spadafora, and Carolyn Ware. Recognized for their special roles were Debbie Frisbie, ambassador captain, Athena Roth and Caroline Thompson, Arts Council resident ambassadors, and Nancy Decker, Heritage House manager.

Juanita Napper was the most active volunteer with 16 sessions serving as an ambassador. Those names marked by an asterisk*, volunteered five or more times. The chamber is grateful for everyone's participation.

Receiving their certificates by mail were: Stephanie Ames, Joyce and Erwin Barber, Barrie Beauvais, Susie Becker,* Judith Bertsche,* Doris Bodie, Evelyn Brant, Nancy Carter,* Dorothy Frisbie,* Gay Gutierrez, Nancy Hale, Nona Hoskins,* Judy Howell, Meredith Johnston,* Jean Kerrigan, George King,* Alta LaPine, Michelle Maron, Beverly McIntyre, Gayle Meaker,* Judy Moore, Juanita Napper,* Gloria Peabody,* Nancy Pribble, Jackie Quayle, Cynthia Schira, Lois Schmidt, Monette Stephens,* Colin Wells, and Barbara White.

The Heritage House gathering was a celebration of local products and enterprises. David and Cynthia Johnston of DaCy Meadow Farms featured foods grown or produced by DaCy Meadow Farm, Juniper Hill Farm, The Dogwood Bread Company, Northern Orchards, and the Champlain Valley Milling Company. Flower Designs by Tracey provided plants and flowers for the ambassadors.

The Chamber Executive Committee officers, Bruce Ware, Molly Kasriels, Chris Casquillo, Lena Robetoy, and Gordon Decker were re-elected. Chamber Directors will be nominated and elected at the Dec. 7 board meeting.
