The county-sponsored Senior Bus will be running Friday, Dec. 10, to Glens Falls for a shopping day for residents 60 and older. Call Laura at 623-9281 and ask for a reservation on the trip. This is a good way to get your Christmas shopping accomplished.

The John Thurman Historical Society will be starting off their monthly meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 7, with a pot luck dinner at the Thurman Town Hall. Bring a dish to pass and join this dinner. The event includes a Christmas party with a gift exchange. The event will include election of Society officers. Gifts sought for Toys for Tots effort

A reminder to take a new unwrapped toy - or several - to deposit in the box at the Thurman Town Hall for the Marine's Christmas Toy Drive for children. This will be picked up by Friday, Dec. 10.

Anniversary wishes go out to Theresa and Jon Moyer who will celebrate the anniversary of their marriage Dec. 6.

Laura Cameron has returned home after spending nearly a month visiting relatives in Florida and Louisiana. She flew to Tampa, Fla. and met her daughter, Jackie and hubby Ed Holbert who had driven down for a visit, and they all spent a week with grandson Chad Holbert. They all had an early Thanksgiving dinner before traveling by car to Pearl River, Pa., to the Holbert home where she spent another two weeks.
