Outreach to those alone over the holidays

For those folks who are volunteering for the annual outreach to those needing some extra attention over the holidays, a session to fill the Christmas Baskets with baked goods and maybe a craft or two is to be held at 9 a.m. Friday, Dec. 10, in the Thurman Town Hall. The snow day is Saturday, Dec. 11, at the Thurman Emergency Medical Services squad building on High Street also at 9 a.m.

The baked and homemade items for the baskets must be delivered to the Thurman Town Hall by 9 a.m. Dec. 10.

Organizers of this effort say items are still needed, including home-baked cookies, small breads, brownies, candy and fudge, and small gifts - to fill about 50 baskets. These will be delivered to folks who will be alone on the holidays, as well as shut-ins and the elderly. Help in this outreach would be well appreciated. Volunteers are needed to help in all aspects. Call Cheryl at 623-9718 for details or to volunteer.
