JOHNSBURG - The Trustees of the Glenn and Carol Pearsall Adirondack Foundation announced this week the recipients of their grant awards for the 2010-2011 grant cycle.
Recipient organizations are as follows:
- The Adirondack Research Consortium for their 2011 Adirondack College Student Juried Research Paper Program.
- North Country Public Radio for their Natural Selections program .
- The Wildlife Institute of Eastern New York for their Adirondack Animals program to Elementary Schools in the Adirondack Park.
- Boonville Black River Canal Museum for technology needs.
- Adirondack Park Institute for their one year VIC transition.
- Tannery Pond Community Center Association for their Teenagers Only! program.
- Westport Federated Church & Future for Westport Quality of Life Committee for expansion of current community gardens making them handicapped and wheelchair accessible.
- Literacy Volunteers of Essex/Franklin Counties for Roo the Reader books.
- Johnsburg Historical Society for interpretive signs for historical sites throughout the township.
- North Warren Central School for their Roots and Shoots program.
- Adirondack Folk School, Inc. for computers and software.
- Caldwell Lake George Library for a multimedia projector, screen, speaker, and peripherals for special programs at the library.
- Inlet Historical Society for computer hardware and software.
- Wildlife Conservation Society for community outreach activities to promote and support regional sustainability initiatives.
- Adirondack Museum for their Cabin Fever series.
- Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney Long Lake Library for purchase of new materials.
- Upper Hudson Musical Arts, Inc. for SUNY Potsdam Crane School of Music concert and Seagle Colony Children's Opera brought to Tannery Pond Community Center.
- Adirondack Curriculum Project for Adirondack Congress Day.
- Stony Creek Free Library to continue work begun on programming and design phases for church/library for recently purchased former Stony Creek Methodist Church.
- Warren-Hamilton Counties Community Action Agency for their food pantry.
